Hay Prices To Rise in Wisconsin

For many years Wisconsin Horse and small animal owners have enjoyed relatively inexpensive hay as compared to other parts of the nation.  That is about to come to an end in 2008 with the price of diesel fuel now above $4.00/gallon and the price of corn and soybeans at all time highs.  Farms will be turning more of their land into corn fields and soybean fields and not hay fields.  Prices for hay in Wisconsin are expected to double or triple this year as demand for good quality hay will exceed the supply and it will cost significantly more for those farms that do make hay to produce it.  We have been told to expect an average bale of hay in Wisconsin to go for between $5.00 - $8.00/bale.  That is if you can find it.  And what will the quality be?

Not only is Chaffhaye consistent from bale to bale, you won't have to look to find a readily available supply of it.  It can be stored indoors or outdoors (even in the rain and snow) for up to two years.  It is guaranteed and certified weed free.  A bag of Chaffhaye takes up 1/3 the space of a small square bale of hay.  It is far easier to transport.  And yes, the bags are recyclable (check with your local recycling authority).
